***This offering is for the Cab Bead Conversion only.  The pictured stones are not included in this offering & additionally, we only offer this service for Blue Heron Gem's cabochons.

Beaders are sometimes on the short end of the stick when it comes to cabochons. Granted, drilling is possible but it can be a difficult operation on a finished cab & often weakens the stone as well as defacing it. Of course, bezel setting the stone in metal is an obvious solution, however, the cost can be prohibitive as well as adding unwanted weight & the bezel does cover some of the stone. Due to popular demand, we have decided to offer the following service so beaders can utilize Blue Heron Gem's Cabochons for their creations.This is also a great option for people who want to wear cabochons on a chain or choker but don't bead, wire wrap or want to have the cab custom set.

We currently offer two types of conversions - option #1 which is the combination pinback/bail & option #2 which is a length of .925 Sterling Silver wire that measures 3.2 mm wide & .5 mm thick which we custom fit to each stone with two openings so the wearer can determine top or bottom.  The pictures show both types of conversions we currently offer. The pinback/bail is 3/4ths of an inch wide & there could be cabs that are too narrow to accommodate the pinback/bail in which case option #2 would be used.

It is important that you email us at Blue Heron Gems with specific instructions that must include the following before we can ship your converted cab.  

1. Choice of either the pinback/bail (option #1) or the wire bail (option #2)

2. Which cab or cabs you wish the findings placed on.

3. The exact location you want the finding placed (i.e. small point up, red part up, whatever it takes to let us know how you want the stone to hang).

Please note: If specific mounting instructions are not received within 7 days of payment, we will refund the cost of the conversion plus any fees & ship the cabs without the conversion installed.

All of the findings are securely glued with Hughes 330 Jewelers epoxy.

There could be up to a 72 hour delay in shipping after the payment date to allow for fabrication & curing.
